Find an Outlook email item using Windows 7 (even if Outlook is not opened)

Step 1: Click the Windows 7 start button

Step 2: Type the name of the email sender or subject where it says “search programs and files”

Step 3: View the results, click the desired email if you see it, or click Outlook to view all emails in the search results.

So next time you need to search an email, save a step and type the search term from the Windows 7 start button.
