Sort Rows By Color in Excel

Since Excel 2007, cells can be sorted by color.  All you need to do is right click a cell that has the color fill or font color you desire to be on top. Then choose “Put selected color on top”.

Below is a screenshot before sorting.

Make sure that you don’t have any blank rows or columns within your group list. Alternatively, you could click on the data tab then click sort. This will give you a dialog box where you can choose the field you want to sort by color and verify you have headers or not.

The final result will take the color filled cells sort. All cells on the same row will sort with the original position of the record.
